SwissBorg MiCA Migration: What You Need to Know

SwissBorg is transitioning its European operations to a MiCA-authorised entity to provide a more secure, transparent, and regulatory compliant experience.

As part of this evolution, all accounts for users in the EEA, Switzerland, and the UK will move to our French entity, BlockNodes SAS, in the coming weeks.

In this article:

What is MiCA and BlockNodes SAS?

The Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) is the European Union’s landmark framework designed to bring high-standard regulation to the crypto space. It introduces stricter rules for asset segregation, transparency, and user protection.

To comply with these standards, SwissBorg will provide services through BlockNodes SAS, a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorised by the French regulator, Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), since 5 March 2026.

How this affects your account

As part of this migration, your contracting entity will automatically change from SwissBorg Solutions OÜ (Estonia) to BlockNodes SAS (France).

What stays the same:

  • Your login credentials and transaction history.
  • Your asset balances and active investments.
  • Your Loyalty Rank and associated benefits.

What changes:

  • You will be covered by updated Terms of Use.
  • You will benefit from the enhanced regulatory protections provided under MiCA.

Mandatory Action: Updating Bank Details

While the account migration is automatic, we recommend you save your SwissBorg bank deposit details into your banking app. These details (IBAN and bank code) will change following the migration.

How to update your details:

  1. Open the SwissBorg app and navigate to the Portfolio tab.
  2. Tap on Deposit and select your preferred Fiat currency.
  3. Copy the new IBAN and bank details provided on the screen.
  4. Update any saved beneficiaries, standing orders, or direct debits in your personal banking app.

Important: Deposits sent to old bank details will be accepted for a short transition period only. After 30 June 2026, any funds sent to the old details will be automatically returned to your bank account.

KYC and Personal Data

Some users may be asked to provide additional information to meet MiCA’s stricter governance standards.

  • Check your status: Ensure your app is up to date and look out for any in-app banners or communications related to identity verification or additional document requests.
  • If requested: Please provide the information promptly. Failure to do so may result in temporary limitations on certain account features until the required verification is completed.
  • Data Privacy: Soon, BlockNodes SAS shall become your data controller. Your data remains protected under strict GDPR standards.

Information for UK and Swiss Users

Although MiCA does not directly apply to the United Kingdom or Switzerland, all European users will migrate to BlockNodes SAS to benefit from the accrued consumer protections of MiCA. This ensures that our entire European community benefits from a single, high-standard regulatory framework and consistent platform protections.
