To update the address where you live, on your favourite crypto provider, is not only a good move to stay in check with the financial authorities of your country (it's required by the law), but it also helps our team to keep your funds safe.
What document do you need?
Simply, a proof of residency, not older than 90 days — in pdf or jpeg format — available on the same device where you use the SwissBorg app.
Here are acceptable documents (same as for Account Level 2):
- Bank statement (personal accounts only) Please note that we DO NOT accept statements from these sources: Revolut, MoneyLion, transfers from Paypal, Moneygram and Nickel.
- Utility bill (gas, electricity, water, or internet)
- Credit card statement
- Official letter from a government authority
- Lease/rental contract + rent receipt
- Employer’s certificate confirming your residence
The document must clearly show the same name as in your SwissBorg account, and a complete address (including the number of the street).
NOTE: If you just moved and don’t have any of the documents yet, no worries. You can contact us once a valid document becomes available.
How to update my address?
- Open the Profile tab
- Select Personal Details
- Select Residential Address
- Press the > icon
Note: If your Account Level KYC is 2 or 3, you will need a valid Proof of Residency in order to verify this change. If your Account Level is 1, a Proof of Residency is not required.
Long-term stays and holidays
If you’re planning to travel or stay abroad for an extended period, please note the following:
- If you access the SwissBorg app from a country different from your registered address, we may need to carry out additional checks to ensure compliance with local regulations and keep your account secure.
- If you’re in a country where SwissBorg is not supported, access to the app may be temporarily restricted. This means you won’t be able to make any deposits (Fiat, Crypto, Bank transfer, Credit Card, etc...) or transfer funds internally. Withdrawals will still be available.
Before travelling to an unsupported country, make sure to:
- Complete any planned asset purchases or exchanges
- Make any necessary deposits or withdrawals
- Take care of other actions you may need in the app
