An Address Book is a system to help streamline compliance with the Travel Rule. Think of it as a list of crypto addresses you save before using them on SwissBorg.
Before initiating deposits or withdrawals on SwissBorg, you’ll need to add any external wallet addresses — whether with another CASP (e.g. Exchange) or self-hosted — to your Address Book.
This system allows you to add, update, or remove addresses as needed.
How to add a wallet
During a deposit
When a crypto deposit lands on your SwissBorg account, from a wallet that is not yet registered in your Address Book, you will receive a notification.
- Tap on the notification to open the SwissBorg app.
- Tap on ‘Verify Now’.
- Confirm that you are the owner of the sending address by tapping on the handle.
- Tap on ‘Approve Deposit’.
NOTE: If you don’t verify the wallet, the pending deposit will be returned after 90 days.
During a withdrawal
Follow the normal withdrawal process.
When confirming the withdrawal, you will be asked to select a wallet from the Address Book. If you didn’t register any prior, you will see only the ‘Add a New Address’ option.
-
Tap on ‘Next’
-
Add the wallet by pasting it or scanning it via QR code.
-
Choose a name for your wallet. It will help you to remember it more easily.
-
Confirm the address belongs to you.
-
Tap on ‘Add Address’. The wallet will be automatically saved in the Address Book.
-
After this step, you will be asked to enter your PIN code, and in the next step, you will see the screen to confirm the withdrawal.
If an address is already saved in the Address Book
If you want to use an already saved address, you can still tap on ‘Select or add a New Address’:
-
When tapping on that button, you will see all the addresses previously saved:
-
Select the address you wish to use.
-
As you tap on the saved address, you will be taken to the withdrawal details page.
-
Tap on ‘Next’ to finalize the withdrawal.
