How to Set Up Passkey on Your SwissBorg Account

What is a Passkey?

Passkeys are a modern, more secure alternative to passwords that allow users to log into websites and apps seamlessly. Instead of relying on passwords that can be guessed, stolen, or reused, passkeys use a strong and unique key pair that only works between your device and the service you’re logging into. This makes them resistant to phishing attacks, easier to use, and safer, as sensitive information isn’t stored on servers or shared across the internet.

Availability

Passkey is available on the most recent mobile devices.

  • Android: Version 9 and later

  • iOS: Version 16 and later

If your phone supports Passkey, you will find the option to activate it under the Security Settings.

The exact location can change according to your OS version and even mobile manufacturer. Please, consult your phone’s instruction manual, or check the official Google and Apple Sources:

How to activate a Passkey on your SwissBorg account?

Once your phone has the Passkey system on, you will be able to secure your SwissBorg app with this secure and modern protection.

  1. In your SwissBorg app, tap on 'Profile'.

  1. Tap on ‘Security’.

  1. On ‘Passkey’, tap on ‘Set up’.

  1. Tap on ‘Get Started’.

  1. Enter your SwissBorg passcode

  1. Your phone will ask you where to save the Passkey. Choose the location and confirm.

  2. All set! Easier said than done!
